How to use this resource
Confirm the role's identity
Match the title to actual responsibilities. Make the hospital location clear, including multi-site travel or remote work where applicable. Remove language that implies a local office or opportunity that does not exist.
Replace vague benefits with verified details
Describe the approved compensation structure, schedule, support team and benefits that are actually offered. Assign an owner to confirm required disclosures for the work location before publication.
Explain the work and the support
State the case mix, clinical expectations, leadership duties and mentorship available. Avoid promising support that depends on a future hire or unapproved budget.
Test the candidate journey
Confirm the application link, responsible recipient and expected next step. Check the mobile page and retire or update the advertisement when the vacancy changes or closes.
A worked example
Illustrative example: replace 'great work-life balance' with the approved weekly schedule and weekend rotation. Replace 'mentorship available' with who provides it and when, after the practice confirms those details.
Apply the decision to the actual Washington DC vacancy
Name the street address and quadrant, then the ward and the Office of Planning Neighborhood Cluster if the employer uses them. The Office of Planning states that its clusters are planning units and do not represent neighborhood boundaries, and several clusters are divided between two wards on the 2022 ward map. Coverage on this site is limited to the District of Columbia. Suburban Maryland or Virginia roles need that state’s license and are outside this site’s coverage.
Give the hiring team one brief for each facility, with clinical work, support staffing, evening and weekend duties and the District license requirement stated together. DC Health licenses veterinary facilities separately from veterinarians, and its facility page requires the owner or medical director to be a licensed District veterinarian. This site describes employer hiring coverage without claiming a Washington DC recruiting office.
Give every provider the same hospital address, clinical scope, work schedule, compensation structure and decision dates. Compare the plan for that brief. A result appearing for a city search does not prove a provider has a local office or available candidates there.
